Video player that helps you focus on work

The integrated video player helps you focus on your work. We want you to keep using your favourite player for watching movies and use our built in player while working. We have added cool new features like saving specific video frames as jpeg images and flexible playback speed. Video players and software appearance and layout generally improve with each new release and Fast Video Cataloger 3 is no exception. We welcome your suggestions. Let us hear from you.

Since it is unlikely that all video scene thumbnails are perfect representations for a scene immediately from the automated indexing process. You add new ones by clicking the capture icon. We have no limit to the amount of video scene thumbnails you can have and they are easy to remove so capture away. For perfectionists that want the exact right place in the video simply pause the video and then use slow play. We have also added burst capture as a way of collecting a dense series of scene thumbnails as a help around moments in a video that is very interesting.
Try out our new player inside Fast Video Cataloger 3, we are quite pleased with it and are keen on feedback.

The best organized video clips

organized filmIf you are not as organized as you would like to be and you feel like you are sorting through a mine field, don’t worry about it because your search has just gotten a lot easier with the filter tool. Once your video collection gets to be so large that it becomes hard to find particular clips you will still be able to find them easily by using the filter option. You can filter by content, keyword, cast, or archive. If you have been naming and categorizing as you go this will be a breeze. If you are not sure what you named a video don’t worry about it because you can use the other filters or do a more detailed filter to find your video.

In your Video Catalog window you will see a filter dropdown menu or a filter button, which looks like the filter you use to put oil in your car. By clicking on the dropdown menu you can choose what you want to filter by and it will pop up the “filter” window. If you chose the wrong specifications don’t worry you can pick from the tabs at the top of the window which way you would like to filter your videos. If you click on the filter picture button the same window will appear for you to choose your preference. Use whichever way works best for you.
When you are filtering on content you have the option to filter by title, description, links, file paths, genre, and/or rating. This is very convenient for you because you have so many options to choose from in filtering a video if you are not sure of the name. The next tab to the right would be your keyword filter. You can add and remove keywords for your filter here. If you have created a cast you can also filter by cast and actors. You can also filter your archived videos by clicking on the archive tab or in the dropdown menu select “Filter on Archive”
You have several filters available for you to sort through your videos easily. The filters makes this process very smooth and Fast Video Cataloger understands that when you are working with videos or clips of videos and images that the more time you save the more time you can be putting into something productive. We are here to help you save time and energy and the filtering option does just that.

Video clips of funny dogs or sexy women?

Fast Video Cataloger Preferences - equally suited to dogs, cats or even your family!

Funny clips or travel videos

In general the default settings for indexing video files will fit most people’s style; however everybody has a different task in mind, so the default settings may not suite you. For example one setup for short and funny clips on dogs and another for beautiful video clips on your wife. Fast Video Cataloger comes with a tool where you can set or change your preferences to your liking.

Simply go to “File” and select Preferences or if you prefer you can click on Control and P (CTRL+P) at the same time. Once you have done this your preference window will be opened and you can redirect to an external video player, or an external video editor, this means you do not have to use the video player embedded in the Fast Video Cataloger if you have a player that you are accustomed to using. You can change your video indexer, meaning the amount of time it takes to capture frames and how many frames you want to capture. You may also resize your frame to be however big or small you wish. You have the ability to change your preferences of how your video plays, how long it takes to start, which external video player you would like to use, if you want it to start with thumb-play, and more.

How you would like your files auto-tagged, and what file extensions you want to use for your companion filters, as well as file thumbnail size. Your companion image preferences can be changed in this window as well. This is where you tell the program whether you want to view it as a slideshow, how many seconds between slides and what to name your cover. These are main examples of what you can change via the preferences window. There are other things you will be able to do there.
Your preferences can always be changed, experiment with them to see how you would like things to work. You are in control here and by changing your preferences to have the Fast Video Cataloger run the way you desire for a particular task is the best way to go. Preferences are just that, what different people prefer always varies dramatically and this is why we give you so many choices. If you would like us to add more choices please contact me and share your idea.
