Fast video cataloger lets you get an instant overview of a video through a thumbnail video wall. Core of this feature is the integrated video indexer. The video indexer can automatically extract thumbnails from a list of videos and more. It can also extract metadata from the videos and more. You can configure the video indexer to your needs from the indexer preferences page and more.

Your software is exactly what I need to organize my videos that span over 30 years. many films converted to digital as well as VCR tapes etc.
I have a large Hone video collection. Family.kids, vacations, holidays etc.
I understand your software can put the file names in a database with a link to the actual video.
Also I understand I can click on a file and see a frame and play the video.
My questions are:
1. Once I see the video can I put in key words for the file e.g. persons name, holiday, persons name and age, location, date – yr month day etc?
2. Can I put in an index name and a start time for a particular scene on the video so when I click it it will start at that time on the video?
Lets say it is all indexed and I want to watch Christmas videos.
will they start oldest first (Can I sort the play order)?
I understand all is on my PC How can I watch the videos on my smart TV?
e.g. currently when we are watching TV I can switch to Videos and it will bring up all the videos in my home network. But they are not indexed and I do not know who is is what videos since I don’t have software like yours.
I can find a video on my network and play it on the TV.
If I have your software how would I watch the videos on my tv using your index system?
Can I load your software into my smart tv and run it?
My tv’s are Samsung.
In a nutshell I would like to call up video on my TV and then select say Christmas and have them all play.
Hi Donald,
Thank you for contacting us and for your kind words.
The simple answer to both your questions is yes. You can extend the metadata in your catalog with lots of different option, including adding characters(actors) with extra data and photos. All thumbnails are playable and will start to play at that time in the video. You can have as many thumbnails as you like per video. I typically add one per scene or interesting event if that exists or simply with a regular frequency for other types of content.
We are on the PC only so I recommend some sort of chrome cast(https://store.google.com/product/chromecast)(https://chromeunboxed.com/chromecast-3rd-generation-ultra-which-to-buy/) or similar solution for your “PC-to-TV” challenge.
It is also an option to use the scripting possibility and experiment with that. I have not tried it my self but it is an interesting problem to solve.
