Arrange your workspace

Fast Video Cataloger is built from windows: the video list, the scenes, the player, search, keywording, details, and more. Each can be shown, hidden, moved, docked or floated on a second monitor, so the workspace fits the job at hand. This is the one thing every new user trips over, and it takes two minutes to learn.

Step by step

  1. Open the View menu. Every window is listed; click a name to show or hide it.
  2. Drag a window by its title bar. Docking arrows appear; drop it on one to place it, or drop it anywhere else to float it.
  3. When things get messy, open Layout and click Reset to return to the saved arrangement. Hold Shift while clicking Reset for the program default.
  4. Click Save in the Layout menu to keep your current arrangement. There are ten layout slots, reachable with F1 to F10, so you can have one for adding, one for keywording, one for searching.

Tip: Ctrl+Tab lists every open window; pick one to bring it to the front.
