Let the AI enrich your catalog

Once the basics are in place, let the program do some of the describing for you. Three batch tools look at what you already have and add searchable information: image tagging describes what is in each scene, face recognition finds every clip a person appears in, and transcription turns speech into searchable text. All of it runs on your own computer; nothing is uploaded.

Step by step

  1. Open the File menu and go to the Maintenance screen.
  2. AI Scenes tags what is in each frame, as orange keywords on the scene and the video. Run it on all videos, the selected ones, or the current search result.
  3. Face Recognition finds the people in your thumbnails and adds them to each video’s cast. Tag a few faces by hand first and it learns from them.
  4. To transcribe speech, right-click videos in the Video Catalog and choose Index → Transcribe Audio. Spoken words then show up in search, and the Transcription window jumps to the moment a word was said.

Each tool has its own guide: image tagging, face recognition and transcription on our YouTube channel, and the full reference in the built-in help under Help.
